5400-CNC/5410-CNC 12" CNC-Ready Mill
The Sherline 5400-CNC/5410-CNC is the CNC-ready version of the 12" Deluxe Mill: same mechanics, 220 × 127 × 159 mm of travel and a 70–2800 rpm spindle, with the axes prepared for stepper motors. It suits people doing a retrofit who want to pick their own drivers and controller, not those after a ready-to-run machine: motors, electronics and software are on the buyer. Against a 3018 CNC router it offers a No. 1 Morse taper spindle with stated runout of 0.013 mm or less, but a 70 × 330 mm table and light cuts.

Software
The machine ships without electronics and without software: the axes are prepared for stepper motors, so the choice of controller (GRBL, Mach3, LinuxCNC) and CAM is up to the buyer. Sherline sells its own complete CNC kits separately.
