Snapmaker 2.0 A350 vs Snapmaker Original

Technical comparison · Fused filament fabrication (FFF/FDM)

In brief

These are two Snapmakers that, besides 3D printing, handle laser and CNC in the same Luban software; only the printing is compared here. The A350 has a 320×350×330 mm volume and costs 1,500–1,800 €, the Original a 125 mm cube and costs 400–850 €.

Software notes The proprietary Snapmaker Luban software is designed to manage all three main functions of the machine (3D printing, laser processing, and CNC routing) within a single interface, significantly simplifying the workflow for users approaching mixed manufacturing. For pure 3D printing, the control board still accepts standard G-code generated by third-party slicers such as Ultimaker Cura or PrusaSlicer, providing advanced users with greater control over specific extrusion and movement settings. Natively compatible with Snapmaker Luban, the proprietary software specifically designed to manage the machine's three different functions within a single environment. The printer is based on standard Marlin firmware and supports G-code formats, allowing the use of third-party slicers like Cura or Simplify3D for 3D printing. For CNC and laser operations, it is possible to use external programs such as Autodesk Fusion 360, LaserGRBL, or LightBurn, exporting compatible toolpaths via the interface or USB port.

The differences that matter

  • 320×350×330 mm vs 125×125×125 mm → nothing bigger than a 12 cm cube fits on the Original, while the A350 takes it.
  • Filament sensor only on the A350 → the Original has no filament check.
  • 1,500–1,800 € vs 400–850 € → the A350 costs several hundred euros more.
  • Nozzle at 275 °C vs 250 °C (manufacturer-declared values) → slightly more headroom on the A350.

Which one to choose

Choose 2.0 A350 if…

Whole parts up to 320×350×330 mm, with a filament sensor and mesh leveling. The trade-off is the price, between 1,500 and 1,800 €, and the weight: 21.6 kg against the Original's 4.5.

Choose Original if…

Prototypes and small parts within 125×125×125 mm, with laser and CNC on the same machine, starting from 400 €. The trade-off is the small volume, a nozzle that reaches 250 °C and no filament sensor.
