Software notes Four-color printing runs through the CANVAS system included in the Combo version. Natively compatible with PrusaSlicer (based on Slic3r, open-source), but it works with any slicer able to generate Marlin-flavored G-code, such as Cura, ideaMaker or Simplify3D. The firmware is a Prusa-modified Marlin 2, fully open: no lock-in to proprietary software or protocols. The user has full control over the machine, but PrusaSlicer is recommended for optimal performance, as it includes exclusive profiles and features like dynamic flow calibration.

The differences that matter

  • Multicolor included vs accessory to add → the Centauri prints in color once set up, the CORE One+ only after buying the module.
  • Up to five colors vs four → one more color in the same part.
  • Plate 256 × 256 mm vs 250 × 220 mm → the Centauri has more room on the plate; the CORE One+ is taller, 270 vs 256 mm.

Which one to choose

Choose Centauri 2 Combo if…

you want to print in several colors right away, with no accessory to add, on a 256 × 256 mm plate. The trade-off: four colors at most and 256 mm of height.

See the Centauri 2 Combo sheet →

Choose CORE One+ if…

you print parts up to 270 mm tall in a closed chamber and need the fifth color, with the multicolor accessory to be added. The Marlin firmware is open and PrusaSlicer ships dedicated profiles. The trade-off: the outlay, roughly €1,049–1,349, and a smaller plate, 250 × 220 mm.
