Which one to choose
Choose Aufero AL3 20W if…
Full panels, tiles and boards engraved in one setup, without splitting the artwork into sections: the 400 × 400 mm bed allows it. It costs 224 € less than the G9 (675 against 899 €). The trade-off is manual focusing, since it has no autofocus.
Choose G9 if…
Small items in batches, such as tags, jewellery or keyrings: 105 × 105 mm is enough, and autofocus saves resetting the height each time the thickness changes. The trade-off is the field: anything larger has to be engraved in sections or does not fit. The manufacturer declares cutting up to 10 mm in wood and 6 mm in acrylic (declared values). Its default software, SGD Laser, is free and aimed at galvo systems; LightBurn works, but advanced features are only partly supported.
