Creality K1 Max vs Elegoo Centauri 2 Combo

Technical comparison · Fused filament fabrication (FFF/FDM)

In brief

Two mid-range CoreXY printers with close declared speeds. The real difference: the K1 Max offers a larger build volume with a Klipper-based system and remote control, the Centauri 2 Combo comes with its four-color system included.

Software notes It runs on the Klipper-based Creality OS. Compatible with Creality Print, Cura, and PrusaSlicer, featuring remote control support via Wi-Fi or LAN. Four-color printing runs through the CANVAS system included in the Combo version.

The differences that matter

  • Build area 300 × 300 mm against 256 × 256 mm → a part 280 mm wide only fits on the K1 Max.
  • Height 300 mm against 256 mm → a part 290 mm tall only fits on the K1 Max.
  • Maximum speed 600 against 500 mm/s (manufacturer-declared values) → a small gap, not a reason to pick one over the other.
  • Four colors with CANVAS included in the Combo → multicolor on the Centauri needs no extra purchase.

Which one to choose

Choose K1 Max if…

You print large parts, such as a housing or a piece of equipment, and control the machine remotely over Wi-Fi or LAN with Creality Print, Cura or PrusaSlicer. The trade-off: 18 kg of weight and a rated 1000 W to make room for on the bench, and a list price of €899.

Choose Centauri 2 Combo if…

You work with several colors in the same part from the day you buy it, with the four-color system in the box. The compromise is space: a part over 25 cm wide or tall has to be split.
