Bambu Lab H2S vs Bambu Lab P1S

Technical comparison · Fused filament fabrication (FFF/FDM)

In brief

Choose Bambu Lab H2S if you need a larger build volume (340×320×340 mm) and extrusion temperatures up to 350 °C for advanced materials. Choose Bambu Lab P1S if you are looking for a compact, budget-friendly machine capable of handling up to 16 colors for standard prints.

Software notes The H2S uses Bambu Studio as its primary slicer, with full support for proprietary features including automatic calibration, AI monitoring, and AMS management. It also accepts G-code exported from OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer, and Cura, though some advanced functions may not be available with third-party slicers. Laser and cutting functions are managed exclusively through Bambu Suite. Developer Mode is available, exposing MQTT access for custom integrations. The P1S is managed through Bambu Studio, Bambu Lab's proprietary slicer available for Windows, macOS, and Linux, or via OrcaSlicer, the widely adopted open-source fork that provides finer parameter control. The Bambu Handy mobile app enables remote monitoring and print launching. The printer supports local LAN connections without a mandatory cloud account, though some advanced features — such as remote timelapses and OTA firmware updates — require a Bambu account.

The differences that matter

  • Build volume and footprint: The H2S offers a print area of 340×320×340 mm compared to the P1S's 256×256×256 mm, but weighs more than twice as much (30 kg vs 12.95 kg).
  • Maximum speed: The H2S reaches 1000 mm/s, doubling the 500 mm/s of the P1S.
  • Operating temperatures: The H2S nozzle reaches 350 °C and the bed 120 °C, whereas the P1S stops at 300 °C and 100 °C, respectively.
  • Cost: The P1S is priced at ~399–499 €, making it much more economical than the ~1150–1250 € range of the H2S.

Which one to choose

Choose H2S if…

Choose Bambu Lab H2S for applications requiring a peak speed of 1000 mm/s and a build volume of 340×320×340 mm. Its 350 °C extruder, combined with a 120 °C bed, enables the use of more demanding polymers, justifying the ~1150–1250 € price tag.

See the H2S sheet →

Choose P1S if…

Choose Bambu Lab P1S for reliable and affordable (~399–499 €) intermediate use in a confined space. The 256×256×256 mm volume and operating temperatures (300 °C / 100 °C) are suitable for most filaments, printing at up to 500 mm/s.
