Software notes The A1 works natively with Bambu Studio, Bambu Lab's proprietary slicer available for Windows and macOS, which handles slicing, automatic calibrations, and remote monitoring via the Bambu Handy app. Third-party slicers — including PrusaSlicer, SuperSlicer, and Ultimaker Cura — are supported via standard G-code export, but advanced features such as vibration compensation and active flow control are only available within the Bambu ecosystem. Pre-installed Klipper firmware with Creality OS interface. Wi-Fi connectivity and built-in 4.3" touch screen.

The differences that matter

  • Kinematics and Structure: The Creality K1 uses a CoreXY architecture with a built-in enclosed chamber, whereas the Bambu Lab A1 is an open Cartesian printer.
  • Build Volume: The A1 offers a slightly larger workspace (256 × 256 × 256 mm) compared to the K1 (220 × 220 × 250 mm).
  • Multi-color Printing: Only the Bambu Lab A1 supports multi-color printing (up to 4 colors) via an accessory; the K1 lacks this feature.
  • Firmware and Ecosystem: The K1 features native pre-installed Klipper firmware, while the A1 relies on the proprietary Bambu Studio ecosystem and Bambu Handy app.
  • Speed and Price: The K1 reaches a higher maximum speed (600 mm/s vs 500 mm/s) and has a lower reference price (€329 vs €429).

Which one to choose

Choose A1 if…

Choose Bambu Lab A1 if you need a larger build volume (256 × 256 × 256 mm vs 220 × 220 × 250 mm) and want the flexibility of multi-color printing (up to 4 colors with the required accessory). It is ideal if you prefer a highly optimized ecosystem like Bambu Studio, despite the higher starting price (€429) and Cartesian architecture.

Choose K1 if…

Choose Creality K1 if you prioritize speed (up to 600 mm/s) and need a fully enclosed chamber out of the box to print technical materials sensitive to temperature fluctuations. It also benefits from a CoreXY architecture and native Klipper, all at a lower price point (€329).
