Bambu Lab A1 vs Creality Hi Combo

Technical comparison · Fused filament fabrication (FFF/FDM)

In brief

Software notes The A1 works natively with Bambu Studio, Bambu Lab's proprietary slicer available for Windows and macOS, which handles slicing, automatic calibrations, and remote monitoring via the Bambu Handy app. Third-party slicers — including PrusaSlicer, SuperSlicer, and Ultimaker Cura — are supported via standard G-code export, but advanced features such as vibration compensation and active flow control are only available within the Bambu ecosystem. Runs Creality OS, a Klipper-derived firmware, with input shaper and pressure advance pre-configured. The primary slicer is Creality Print (free), also compatible with Orca Slicer. Remote monitoring via Creality Cloud is available but not required for local use.

The differences that matter

  • Price: €429 vs €349 → the Hi Combo costs €80 less.
  • Multicolor: the A1 needs a dedicated accessory, the Hi Combo includes it → less extra spending on the Hi Combo.
  • Z height: 256 mm vs 300 mm → the Hi Combo fits taller pieces.

Which one to choose

Choose A1 if…

The A1 suits someone already inside the Bambu Studio ecosystem and the Bambu Handy app for remote monitoring, planning to add multicolor later via a dedicated accessory. You pay €80 more, print up to 256 mm tall against the Hi Combo's 300 mm, and multicolor stays a separate purchase.

See the A1 sheet →

Choose Hi Combo if…

The Hi Combo makes sense for multicolor already included, no extra accessory, a taller bed (300 mm vs 256 mm) and a lower price. The trade-off is stepping outside the Bambu Studio ecosystem, working with Creality Print or Orca Slicer instead.
