The differences that matter
- Z height 400 mm vs 256 mm → a column or vase taller than 256 mm prints whole only on the Sidewinder.
- Bed 300 × 300 mm vs 256 × 256 mm → a 280 mm plate fits only on the Sidewinder.
- Marlin with Wi-Fi file transfer and no Klipper interface on the Sidewinder → remote monitoring and mid-print adjustments are limited.
Which one to choose
Choose Sidewinder X4 Plus if…
You print tall parts in one go or wide plates, and want to stay around an indicative 380–430 euros. The trade-off is bulk, 51 × 49 × 68 cm at 15.5 kg, and remote control: Wi-Fi transfers files, but there is no Klipper web interface to watch and adjust a print.
Choose Centauri 2 Combo if…
You print multicolor objects, up to four colors, and the Centauri's volume is enough. There is no margin beyond it: a part that exceeds that volume has to be split and glued.
