Anycubic Kobra S1 vs Creality K1 Max

Technical comparison · Fused filament fabrication (FFF/FDM)

In brief

Two enclosed CoreXY machines running Klipper, at the same level: the deciding factor is how much bed you need against how much you want to spend. The K1 Max costs 350 € more and prints up to 300 mm per side instead of 250.

Software notes The Kobra OS firmware is based on Klipper and controlled via a proprietary touch interface. The official slicer is Anycubic Slicer Next (derived from OrcaSlicer, available for Windows and macOS), but it also supports third-party OrcaSlicer. Remote control is possible via the Anycubic app (iOS/Android) over a local network, with no mandatory cloud connection for daily operations. It runs on the Klipper-based Creality OS. Compatible with Creality Print, Cura, and PrusaSlicer, featuring remote control support via Wi-Fi or LAN.

The differences that matter

  • Price → 549 € against 899 €: the K1 Max costs 350 € more.
  • Build volume → 250 × 250 × 250 mm against 300 × 300 × 300 mm: a 28 cm part fits on the K1 Max and has to be split on the Kobra S1.
  • Multicolor → the Kobra S1 reaches 8 colors with the dedicated add-on: its cost has to be added to the 549 €.

Which one to choose

Choose Kobra S1 if…

Batches of parts under 25 cm, with the option of multicolor up to 8 colors using the dedicated add-on. You spend 350 € less; a 28 cm part, however, will not fit on the Kobra S1.

See the Kobra S1 sheet →

Choose K1 Max if…

A 28 cm part or a box 28 cm tall prints whole, with no cutting and gluing. The trade-off is price: 350 € more.
