Anycubic Kobra S1 vs Bambu Lab H2S

Technical comparison · Fused filament fabrication (FFF/FDM)

In brief

Two enclosed CoreXY printers at the same level, set apart mainly by build volume and about 650 € in price. The deciding question: do you need parts wider than 25 cm?

Software notes The Kobra OS firmware is based on Klipper and controlled via a proprietary touch interface. The official slicer is Anycubic Slicer Next (derived from OrcaSlicer, available for Windows and macOS), but it also supports third-party OrcaSlicer. Remote control is possible via the Anycubic app (iOS/Android) over a local network, with no mandatory cloud connection for daily operations. The H2S uses Bambu Studio as its primary slicer, with full support for proprietary features including automatic calibration, AI monitoring, and AMS management. It also accepts G-code exported from OrcaSlicer, PrusaSlicer, and Cura, though some advanced functions may not be available with third-party slicers. Laser and cutting functions are managed exclusively through Bambu Suite. Developer Mode is available, exposing MQTT access for custom integrations.

The differences that matter

  • Price → 549 € against about 1200 €: the H2S costs about 650 € more.
  • Build volume → 250 × 250 × 250 mm against 340 × 320 × 340 mm: a 33 cm wide part fits whole on the H2S and has to be split on the Kobra S1.
  • Slicer and firmware → the Kobra S1 runs Kobra OS (Klipper-based) and also accepts OrcaSlicer; on the H2S the advanced functions, such as automatic calibration and AMS management, are tied to Bambu Studio.

Which one to choose

Choose Kobra S1 if…

You print parts that fit in a 250 mm cube, possibly multicolor with the dedicated add-on (up to 8 colors), and want to stay around 550 €. The trade-off: anything larger has to be split into pieces and glued.

See the Kobra S1 sheet →

Choose H2S if…

You print a single piece up to 340 × 320 mm, such as an enclosure the Kobra S1 would force you to split in two. You pay about 650 € more, and the advanced functions (automatic calibration, AMS management) run through Bambu Studio: with third-party slicers some may be missing.
