Anycubic Kobra S1 Max vs Bambu Lab P1S
Technical comparison · Fused filament fabrication (FFF/FDM)
Two FDM printers with an enclosed chamber and CoreXY: what decides is the size of the build volume. The Kobra S1 Max reaches 350 mm a side, the P1S 256 mm, and the P1S costs about €250 less.

| Software notes | The firmware runs on a proprietary Kobra OS layer built on top of Klipper; the official slicer is Anycubic Slicer Next, derived from OrcaSlicer, available for Windows and macOS. Third-party OrcaSlicer is also supported. Remote monitoring and control are available via the Anycubic app (iOS/Android) over LAN, with no mandatory cloud connection required for ordinary printing operations. Unlike the Combo version, the ACE 2 Pro module is not included in the box. | The P1S is managed through Bambu Studio, Bambu Lab's proprietary slicer available for Windows, macOS, and Linux, or via OrcaSlicer, the widely adopted open-source fork that provides finer parameter control. The Bambu Handy mobile app enables remote monitoring and print launching. The printer supports local LAN connections without a mandatory cloud account, though some advanced features — such as remote timelapses and OTA firmware updates — require a Bambu account. |
The differences that matter
- Build volume → 350×350×350 mm against 256×256×256 mm: parts over 256 mm can only be printed on the Kobra S1 Max (manufacturer's declared values).
- Colors → 4 against 16, accessory needed on both: on the Kobra S1 Max the ACE 2 Pro module is not included.
- Price → about €699 against about €449: the P1S costs about €250 less.
Which one to choose
Choose Kobra S1 Max if…
you print single large parts that exceed 256 mm and would not fit the P1S. The trade-off is about €250 more, and multicolor up to 4 colors needs the ACE 2 Pro module, which is not in the box.
Choose P1S if…
you print parts within 256 mm and want the wider multicolor range, up to 16 colors, with its accessory. You pay about €250 less and give up volume: a part 300 mm tall does not fit.
