Anycubic Kobra S1 Combo vs Creality K1

Technical comparison · Fused filament fabrication (FFF/FDM)

In brief

The Kobra S1 Combo and the K1 are both enclosed CoreXY machines, but the price gap is wide: €749 versus €329, a €420 difference. Everything else comes down to two points: built-in multicolor against native Klipper out of the box.

Software notes The printer works with Anycubic Slicer Next, derived from OrcaSlicer and optimized for the Anycubic ecosystem; it supports multi-plate management and object skipping during printing. Remote control and real-time monitoring are available through the Anycubic app (iOS and Android), connecting via LAN or cloud. The proprietary firmware is not currently open source; native Klipper compatibility is not supported. Pre-installed Klipper firmware with Creality OS interface. Wi-Fi connectivity and built-in 4.3" touch screen.

The differences that matter

  • Native Klipper only on the K1 → firmware and macro customization without unofficial workarounds.
  • Multicolor built in on the Kobra, absent on the K1 → printing on the K1 stays single-color.
  • Bed up to 120°C on the Kobra versus 100°C on the K1 → more headroom with materials that need hot-bed adhesion.
  • €420 price gap → the K1 frees up budget for filament or accessories, the Kobra spends it on the multicolor kit.

Which one to choose

Choose Kobra S1 Combo if…

You want multicolor printing without adding accessories: the system comes built in, while the K1 doesn't offer it. The bed reaches 120°C and the nozzle 320°C, a useful margin with ABS and materials that need more adhesion. In exchange you pay €420 more, and the bed stays smaller than the price gap might suggest: 250×250 mm versus 220×220 mm on the K1.

Choose K1 if…

Budget matters more than anything else and you want to customize firmware and macros: the K1 costs €420 less and ships with native Klipper, an advantage the Kobra doesn't offer. It doesn't print multicolor, so it's fine if you mostly print in a single color, and the bed tops out at 100°C versus 120°C on the Kobra.
