Anycubic Kobra 3 V2 Combo vs Anycubic Kobra S1 Max

Technical comparison · Fused filament fabrication (FFF/FDM)

In brief

Choose Product A if you want multi-color printing up to 4 colors out of the box without external accessories and prefer a native Klipper system. Choose Product B if you need a larger build volume of 350×350×350 mm, a closed chamber, and higher nozzle and bed temperatures.

Software notes The Kobra OS, based on Klipper, supports native features like Input Shaping and is accessible via a touchscreen interface. The machine is compatible with Anycubic Slicer Next and OrcaSlicer, supporting remote monitoring via Wi-Fi through a dedicated app and managing automatic filament changes with the ACE Pro module. The firmware runs on a proprietary Kobra OS layer built on top of Klipper; the official slicer is Anycubic Slicer Next, derived from OrcaSlicer, available for Windows and macOS. Third-party OrcaSlicer is also supported. Remote monitoring and control are available via the Anycubic app (iOS/Android) over LAN, with no mandatory cloud connection required for ordinary printing operations. Unlike the Combo version, the ACE 2 Pro module is not included in the box.

The differences that matter

  • Build volume: Product B offers a significantly larger working area (350×350×350 mm) compared to Product A (255×255×260 mm).
  • Kinematics and chamber: Product A uses an open Cartesian kinematics system, whereas Product B features a CoreXY structure with a closed chamber.
  • Multi-color setup: Product A includes the ACE Pro module for multi-color printing out of the box, while Product B requires an additional, separate accessory.
  • Thermal and electrical specs: Product B reaches a 350 °C nozzle and 120 °C bed temperature with a power consumption of 2200 W, compared to 300 °C, 110 °C, and 400 W for Product A.
  • Firmware integration: Product A integrates native Klipper, while Product B runs a Klipper-based firmware with a proprietary Kobra OS interface.

Which one to choose

Choose Kobra 3 V2 Combo if…

Product A (Anycubic Kobra 3 V2 Combo) is suitable for users looking for a ready-to-use multi-color printing solution, as it includes the ACE Pro module at a lower price point (€499). It is designed for standard build volumes (255×255×260 mm) and offers a native Klipper OS, though it lacks a closed chamber and features lower thermal limits (300 °C nozzle, 110 °C bed).

Choose Kobra S1 Max if…

Product B (Anycubic Kobra S1 Max) is ideal for large-scale projects due to its 350×350×350 mm build volume and the stability of CoreXY kinematics. The closed chamber and higher maximum temperatures (350 °C nozzle, 120 °C bed) extend material compatibility, although multi-color printing requires a separate accessory purchase (ACE 2 Pro module not included) and the starting price is higher (~€599–799).
