Anycubic Kobra 3 Max vs Artillery Sidewinder X4 Plus
Technical comparison · Fused filament fabrication (FFF/FDM)
Two Cartesian filament printers, one at €699 and one at around €405. The build volume decides it: a 420×420 mm bed against 300×300 mm.

| Software notes | Equipped with Kobra OS, a Klipper-based firmware, controllable via a 4.3-inch touchscreen. Compatible with Anycubic Slicer and third-party software like OrcaSlicer. Features Wi-Fi for remote control via app. Multicolor printing requires the ACE Pro module, sold separately. | Compatible with Artillery Slicer and Cura; the Marlin firmware accepts standard G-code, so it works with PrusaSlicer, SuperSlicer, OrcaSlicer. WiFi file transfer does not offer a Klipper web interface, limiting remote monitoring and real-time adjustments. |
The differences that matter
- Bed 420×420 mm vs 300×300 mm → a 40 cm part prints whole on the Kobra 3 Max; on the X4 Plus it has to be split and glued.
- Height 500 mm vs 400 mm → objects up to half a metre tall only on the Kobra 3 Max.
- Kobra OS on a Klipper base vs Marlin without a Klipper web interface → remote control is thinner on the X4 Plus.
- Bed at 90 °C vs 100 °C → the X4 Plus has more headroom with materials that want a hotter bed.
Which one to choose
Choose Kobra 3 Max if…
For parts up to 42 cm printed in one piece, or several parts laid out on the same plate. You accept a footprint of about 71×94 cm, roughly €300 more, and a bed that tops out at 90 °C. Multicolour needs the ACE Pro module, sold separately.
Choose Sidewinder X4 Plus if…
For parts that fit within 300×300 mm, at roughly €300 less. The machine takes up 51×49 cm and the bed reaches 100 °C (manufacturer's declared value). You give up 12 cm of bed and 10 cm of height, and with Marlin firmware there is no Klipper web interface: Wi-Fi sends files, but remote monitoring and live adjustments are limited.
