Software notes The machine operates on firmware built upon the Klipper open-source ecosystem, tailored by the manufacturer to provide native support for Input Shaping and pressure advance algorithms. Users can manage the system via an integrated touchscreen or remotely through Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity. Regarding slicing software, the device offers native compatibility with FlashPrint alongside full support for optimized profiles in OrcaSlicer and PrusaSlicer. File transmission and job monitoring can be executed entirely within a local network without mandatory cloud connection, ensuring control over technical data privacy. Four-color printing runs through the CANVAS system included in the Combo version.

The differences that matter

  • 256 × 256 × 256 mm vs 220 × 220 × 220 mm → parts up to 36 mm wider and taller print in one piece.
  • 600 vs 500 mm/s declared → a rated maximum, not the speed you print at day to day.
  • Four colors on both, no accessory to add → multicolor is not what separates them.

Which one to choose

Choose AD5X if…

you print enclosures, brackets and spare parts that fit in a 22 cm cube and want the higher speed ceiling: 600 mm/s against 500 (manufacturer's declared figures, not everyday pace). List price is €579. The trade-off: anything wider or taller than 220 mm has to be split and glued.

Choose Centauri 2 Combo if…

on Monday you need to print an enclosure or a vase up to 256 mm tall in one piece, which would have to be cut in two on the AD5X. The four colors run through the CANVAS system included in the Combo version. The trade-off: the speed ceiling drops to 500 mm/s.
