The Lumos Flex puts two 15 W sources — fiber at 1064 nm and diode — into a 7.5 kg machine that works both on a bench and resting on the workpiece. The standard area is small, 116×116 mm, and reaches 520×116 mm with the slide extension: it is sized for plates, tools and objects, not for panels. Against the Lumos, which has 3 W of infrared, the 15 W of fiber cut marking times on steel and make deep engraving practical; against a traditional benchtop fiber it gives up work area in exchange for just over 3 kg in portable mode. It is the machine for those who mark metal in small runs and move around, with the diode as a second source for wood and leather.
