3D printing
Post-processing
Over time: From the manufacturer's data sheet: once cured it resists weak acids and bases and some solvents such as water and alcohol, but not strong solvents such as acetone. The bottle keeps for 18 months in its original container, between 20 and 50 °C and away from light. Printed parts tend to absorb moisture from the air, which can degrade them or make them crack: dry them thoroughly, inside and out, and cure them right after printing.
Common defects
- Failed prints when the resin is below 20 °C: the manufacturer recommends printing between 20 and 50 °C
- Sediment at the bottom of the vat: stir with a plastic spatula or pour back into the bottle and shake
- Resin curing in the vat under sunlight: print in a dark place or with the cover closed
- Uncured prints left too long in the cleaning liquid lose performance
- Prints absorb moisture from the air and may crack if not dried and cured promptly
Safety
Recommended PPE: gloves_nitrile, eye_protection
Manufacturer's safety data sheet (CLP): the liquid resin causes skin irritation, may cause an allergic skin reaction, causes serious eye damage and is harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects (H315, H317, H318, H412). Nitrile gloves and safety glasses, in a ventilated room. Wash in water, ethanol or isopropyl alcohol for at least 3 minutes, then cure under UV for 3 minutes. Wash water must not go down the drain: let it settle, leave it in the sun until the resin solidifies and dispose of it as plastic waste. Once cured it is disposed of as plastic waste; liquid resin and containers go to an approved waste disposal facility.
