Buddy TIG 160
The ESAB Buddy TIG 160 is designed to meet the needs of experienced hobbyists, maintenance technicians, and professionals requiring a reliable yet highly portable welding machine. Positioned in an intermediate tier, it offers stable performance thanks to IGBT inverter technology and a highly efficient internal cooling system. Weighing only 6 kg and featuring a robust shoulder strap, it is ideal for quick on-site interventions or outdoor repair work. It is not suited for intensive industrial production, as the 20% duty cycle at maximum power (160 A) and the lack of advanced features like alternating current (AC) or pulsed arc limit it primarily to DC welding on carbon and stainless steels. However, its solid construction and high-frequency (HF) start ensure excellent quality results.

Software
Being a traditionally designed TIG and MMA welding machine, the ESAB Buddy TIG 160 is entirely analog and stand-alone. It does not require or support any management software, mobile applications, or cloud connectivity for its operation. All welding parameter adjustments, such as selecting the mode (TIG or stick) and setting the amperage, are physically performed via the front control panel. This absence of digital dependencies ensures immediate operational readiness and makes the machine immune to issues related to firmware updates or system incompatibilities, providing a straightforward user experience focused entirely on the operator's manual skills.
Reviews from those who use this machine every day will be available in the next version of the platform.
