Artillery Sidewinder X4 Plus

Artillery SW-X4-PLUS-S1 2024

The Sidewinder X4 Plus offers a 300x300x400 mm build volume, a bimetallic direct drive extruder, and factory-calibrated input shaping—features absent in printers under €300 like the Creality Ender 3 V3 SE or Sovol SV06. Compared to €600 models like the Bambu Lab P1P, it allows printing 400 mm tall objects at no extra cost, sacrificing the enclosed system and CoreXY. It's the choice for those regularly printing cosplay, vases, or tall functional prototypes and using flexible materials without modifications. The main limitation is the bed movement, which, despite input shaping, introduces vibrations on very tall prints at maximum speeds.

Software

The printer runs Marlin firmware with an open G-code protocol, compatible with any slicer like Cura, PrusaSlicer, or Simplify3D. Artillery Slicer is a customized version of Cura with optimized profiles. WiFi connectivity allows file transfer via a dedicated app but doesn't support a full web interface. Input shaping and pressure advance are preconfigured and factory-tuned, reducing initial calibration.

Reviews from those who use this machine every day will be available in the next version of the platform.
