| Software notes | The MK4S runs proprietary Prusa firmware based on Marlin, not GRBL. It is managed through PrusaSlicer (with over 180 official profiles included), Simplify3D, or Cura with community profiles. Files are loaded via USB, local network, or PrusaConnect and the Prusa mobile app; it is not compatible with LightBurn or LaserGRBL, being a filament printer. The machine can run fully offline with no cloud dependency, and receives regular firmware updates along with pre-tuned profiles for Prusament materials. | The official software is Snapmaker Luban, which integrates the tools needed to manage 3D printing, laser, and CNC operations into a single interface. It supports the direct import of common standard formats (STL, OBJ, SVG, DXF). The machine features Wi-Fi and USB connectivity, allowing for practical job dispatch. As an open system, 3D printing is also compatible with third-party slicers like Cura or PrusaSlicer, while for the laser module, it is possible to generate G-code with dedicated software and then export the file for offline execution. |
