The differences that matter

Which one to choose
Choose PD 250/E if…
For turning long shafts, pins and spacers up to 250 mm between centers: a 240 mm pin fits the PD 250/E but not the Taig, which stops at 222.25 mm. The trade-off is diameter: nothing wider than 70 mm over the bed, so larger flanges and pulleys are out, and it costs about €245 more.
Choose Micro Lathe II L1015-5C if…
For flanges, pulleys and discs up to 114.3 mm in diameter, which the Proxxon can't take beyond 70 mm. The Taig is fully manual and ships without a motor: you need to source a compatible 1750 RPM motor and, for speed control, an external inverter, a cost on top of the price. Between centers, parts are limited to 222.25 mm.
