The differences that matter
- XY resolution 34 µm vs 48 µm → faces, textures and small threads are where the 6K earns its place.
- Indicative price 450–1000 € vs 250–350 € → the X2 frees up at least a hundred euros even in the best case for the 6K, to spend on resin and vats.
- Weight 11 kg vs 7.4 kg → the X2 is easier to move and put away.
- Print speed 80 mm/h vs 60 mm/h → manufacturer-declared values: on a tall part the 6K finishes sooner.
Which one to choose
Choose Photon Mono X 6K if…
You print miniatures or parts with tiny details, and the finest pixel matters more than saving money. Expect a higher budget and a heavier machine to find room for on the bench.
Choose Photon Mono X2 if…
You want a benchtop resin printer for ordinary-sized parts, with a declared work area of 196 × 122 mm and 200 mm of height, loaded from a USB stick, with no cloud and no subscription. The trade-off is fine detail: the pixel is larger here, so the smallest textures come out less crisp.
