Software notes The official slicer is Bambu Studio, available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. The printer also accepts standard G-code exported from third-party slicers such as PrusaSlicer, SuperSlicer, and Cura, though certain advanced Bambu-specific features — including RFID-based filament detection and some automatic calibration modes — are only available within Bambu Studio. Remote control is handled via the Bambu Handy mobile app and desktop app; push notifications require cloud connectivity. The printer is natively compatible with PrusaSlicer, an open-source slicer with official tested profiles for all supported materials; OrcaSlicer profiles are also available. The firmware is Prusa-proprietary (STM32/xBuddy-based) with no native Klipper support. Remote management is available via Prusa Connect (optional cloud platform) or over the local network; offline printing from USB is fully supported with no functional limitations.

Which one to choose

Choose P2S if…

you value price and maximum colors. «The maximum number of colors indicates how many distinct color zones or materials can be used in one print without manual intervention. Two colors cover most practical uses, including soluble support. Higher values are useful for complex decorative models or color-coded prototypes. Each additional color increases print time due to transition purges, so the practical benefit should be weighed against the added time cost.»

Choose Original Prusa XL 5-toolhead 3D Printer - Enclosure Bundle if…

you value work area, maximum z height and multi-extruder. «The Z height determines how tall a part the machine can produce in one print. Vertical objects such as vases, load-bearing structures, or casting patterns require a high Z travel. A lower value does not affect quality but forces the user to split or reorient the model. Z height should be considered alongside the XY surface to assess total usable build volume.»
