Atomstack Glacier 90W Water-Cooled Diode vs xTool F1

Technical comparison · Diode laser (405–460 nm)

In brief

Glacier 90W Water-Cooled Diode and F1 are not direct competitors: different use classes (F4 vs F2), very different prices (~3.3×). F1 costs less (~€600) and is the entry-level choice; Glacier 90W Water-Cooled Diode offers more capability at a higher price (~€2000). Judge them by budget, not head-to-head.

Software notes The system is compatible with leading laser cutting and engraving software, such as LightBurn and LaserGRBL. The machine offers fully offline operation capabilities via its built-in touchscreen display, allowing users to manage jobs locally without the need for a permanently tethered computer during extensive runs. It supports standard G-code files and can be expanded with additional modules, such as the infrared laser for processing metals. The xTool F1 Lite is compatible with xTool Studio (proprietary, free, Windows and macOS). The galvo system uses a proprietary protocol: LaserGRBL is not compatible as it requires GRBL firmware on a gantry controller. LightBurn introduced experimental galvo support in version 1.4+, but compatibility with the F1 Lite's specific controller is not officially certified by xTool, making the experience unguaranteed. In practice the user is tied to xTool Studio, which handles core functions but does not offer the flexibility of community profiles, macros, and advanced layers available in LightBurn for GRBL gantry lasers.
