Software notes The printer works with Anycubic Slicer Next, derived from OrcaSlicer and optimized for the Anycubic ecosystem; it supports multi-plate management and object skipping during printing. Remote control and real-time monitoring are available through the Anycubic app (iOS and Android), connecting via LAN or cloud. The proprietary firmware is not currently open source; native Klipper compatibility is not supported. The printer operates with Klipper firmware pre-installed on a 64-bit ARM processor, enabling advanced standard features like input shaping and pressure advance. The user interface is managed via a removable capacitive touchscreen and a dedicated web interface (Fluidd or Mainsail) for remote control and monitoring via Wi-Fi or LAN connection. For file preparation, the machine is compatible with major slicers on the market, including Elegoo Cura (bundled by the manufacturer), UltiMaker Cura, PrusaSlicer, and OrcaSlicer.

Which one to choose

Choose Kobra S1 Combo if…

you value closed chamber, multicolor printing and max print speed. «A closed chamber reduces thermal gradients around the part being built, limiting warping and cracking caused by rapid cooling in high-shrinkage materials such as ABS, ASA, and PC. It also shields the mechanism from drafts and airborne particles. A closed chamber is effectively necessary for technical materials; for PLA and PETG it is an advantage, not a requirement.»

Choose Elegoo Neptune 4 Plus if…

you value price, work area and maximum z height. «The Z height determines how tall a part the machine can produce in one print. Vertical objects such as vases, load-bearing structures, or casting patterns require a high Z travel. A lower value does not affect quality but forces the user to split or reorient the model. Z height should be considered alongside the XY surface to assess total usable build volume.»
